The mystique of Côte d'Azur inspired Picasso's most innovative ideas such as his collaboration with the Ramié couple, founders of the renown Madoura workshop.

From 1919, Pablo Picasso would regularly travel to the South of France. He became quickly enchanted by the charm and the culture of the region that would provide the artist with endless creative stimulation.

Through the exploration of the ceramic technique, the sculptor manufactured a wonderful universe filled with forms and textures. The French Riviera also enhanced his fascination with with the Faune, a playful symbol of peace and fertility with whom he identified.
